Exhibition in Angoulême - HERGÉ, from imaginary travel to self discovery

News ~ Thursday 25th January 2007

The exhibition "HERGÉ, from imaginary travel to self discovery", will be presented in Angoulême from the 25 to January 28, 2007. Hergé’s entire work can be read like a long and slow voyage. Slavishly working at his desk, Hergé worked very hard for decades. Using his imagination, he travelled around the world with the characters he invented, following in Tintin’s footsteps, he even walked on the Moon, before anyone else. However, there came a time when Hergé set off in search of Georges Remi (GR = RG = HERGE) and the imaginary globetrotting, became a journey of self discovery.

The exhibition HERGÉ, from imaginary travel to self discovery gives the visitor the unique opportunity to explore some specific aspects of the creation process of an artist who was a pioneer of Comic Strip Art and became a model for many generations of comic strip authors. This exhibition is part of the festivities and events organized in honour of Hergé’s Centennial during which, for once, the spotlight will focus on the man, the creator, not his creation.
