Tintin is the guest of Honour to the 2006 MotorShow
The major exhibition In Peru with Tintin crosses the Atlantic to the Musée de la civilisation in Québec City, where it will run from October 25th 2006 - January 6th 2008. Tintin has long captured the imagination of Quebeckers. Throughout the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to explore certain aspects of the famous comic book reporter and his creator Hergé while admiring remarkable archaeological artefacts from the Incas and their predecessors.
The exhibition
This fascinating exhibition explores the world of The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun. In creating these albums, Hergé drew much of his inspiration from the artistic treasures of pre-Columbian civilisations, which he discovered on his frequent trips to Belgium’s Royal Arts and History museums. With the help of over 200 magnificent works and objects from Peru — including the mummy that inspired the character of Rascar Capac and numerous original plates drawn by Hergé himself — the exhibition invites visitors to compare the artist’s imagination with actual Peruvian archaeological artefacts..
