Anthony Horowitz: "Tintin, my hero"

On 17 June 2009, Anthony Horowitz, author of the Alex Rider series, gave an interview to the Belgian newspaper De Morgen: "Tintin was my first significant inspiration. I wasn't a very gifted child and therefore not overly keen on reading. Then I discovered Hergé. I fell in love with the rich mix of comedy and adventure, and with the characters and exotic countries from all over the world. In this way, Tintin was my first love in literature!"
Hergé would certainly inspire Anthony Horowitz in his working methods, namely periods of intense research carried out before starting to write each new book. Always pushing the boundaries of reality and steeped in science fiction, his novels for children have often been adapted for cinema. Among his bestsellers: the Diamond Brothers series, the Power of Five collection (the fourth volume of which, Necropolis, has just been published) and Stormbreaker. He has also written for numerous television series and adaptations such as Hercule Poirot, Inspector Barnaby, Robin of Sherwood and William Tell.
