Tintin et le Quebec - Hergé au coeur de la révolution tranquille

Moulinsart and Hurtubise are working together to publish a book entitled TINTIN et le Québec. Lavishly illustrated with previously unseen pictures and documents, this new book is a comprehensive record of Hergé’s travels to Montreal, Quebec and Manicouagan. In some ways it is also a story about Tintin, a comic-strip hero who is well established in the collective imagination of generations of Quebecers. The author, Tristan Demers, takes us on a Tintinesque journey to the heart of a nation’s social and cultural upheaval, from the runaway success of the song La Manic to the highlights of Expo 67, stopping off at such locations as the Jardin des merveilles children’s zoo in Lafontaine park, and Radio-Canada studios.

Tintin et le Québec is also a collection of anecdotes and stories illustrating the profound links between Hergé, his work, and the people of Quebec.

A comic-strip enthusiast since the age of 10 years old, Tristan Demers is the author of Gargouille and Cosmos Café. Passionate about the ‘ninth art’ and his contemporaries working in the field, Demers conceived of and worked on the television series BD Cités. The author took three years of meticulous research to complete this work, originally inspired by an idea of a fellow Tintinophile, Christian Proulx.

This new book will be available in Quebec, France and Belgium.
