The 4th Tintin Magazine car rally
September has begun and that usually means back to school, but for Brussels residents it also meant the beeping of horns as the 4th Tintin Magazine car rally got underway last weekend as part of the annual Brussels Comic Strip Festival.
DEPARTURE!
The weather was a mixed bag of sun, wind and rain, but this didn't change the atmosphere at all. Everyone was in a good mood.
Drivers of all kinds of classic cars braved the fickle weather to make the trip to the Hergé Museum for lunch.
As the skies cleared the convoy headed to the Royal Palace in Brussels where a crowd of enthusiastic fans cheered their arrival.
PRIZES!
A jury made up of automobile and comic strip specialists chose the happy winners. The presentation of the vehicle, the clothes worn by the drivers and their overall passion really made the difference.
But beyond the prizes there was the bigger reward, shared by everyone there, of participating I such a great adventure full of laughs and friendship.
DO YOU LIKE STAR WARS?
Things took a surreal turn as the area in front of the Royal Palace was overrun by imposing storm troopers later on.
At least the cars were well-guarded!
