Tintin at Train World

Hergé sent his hero on adventures by plane, by boat and by car. But it was from a railway station that The Adventures of Tintin really began, when in 1929 the young reporter set off for Russia by train. Since that very first moment, trains and railways have held a special place in Hergé's stories.
To mark the occasion of this new exhibition the SNCB has decorated one of its brand-new SIEMENS carriages to the theme of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets.

Hergé was not the only artist to be inspired by rail travel for his stories. From the moment railways were invented, trains have always provided a means for writers of fiction and for artists to enrich their works. It is in this context that the SNCB has decided to pay homage to Tintin in the first-ever exhibition being held at Train World.

From the Loch Lomond wagon proudly placed on Princesse Elisbeth Square to the Hergé original pages on display in the museum temporary exhibition room, visitors will go from surprise to surprise. At the heart of Train World, Tintin comes to life through all kinds of amazing exhibits.
